How to Get Involved
PATA Register of Peers Launched
28 August 2011
Karilyn Brown, Chair of the Performing Arts Touring Alliance, today announced the launch of PATA’s new, on-line Register of Peers. This Register will assist the PATA Council to not only make new appointments to the PATA Council as vacancies arise, but also to assist it to research and develop improvements to national performing arts touring.
Ms. Brown said, “The new Register of Peers will act as one of PATA’s key tools for ensuring we have the broadest possible connection with the performing arts touring sector. We invite producers, companies, presenters and tour coordinators to register their interest in being more directly engaged with PATA’s activities.”
Karilyn added that, “The PATA Council has strong connections with presenters and tour
co-coordinators through APACA’s national membership network and the related state-based arts centre organisations, and through Regional Arts Australia and its Blue Heelers’ large and diverse membership networks across Australia. As well, the major performing arts companies sector is directly represented on Council via AMPAG.”
“However, as we wish to ensure that the PATA Council reflects the breadth and diversity of the performing arts sector, we particularly encourage those not represented by a sector peak body, including producers and companies from the independent and small to medium sector, to register their interest.”
